About Canzuki
We started Canzuki because we kept seeing the same thing
Great organisations making expensive technology decisions for the wrong reasons.
Vendor-led RFPs producing vendor-friendly outcomes. Implementation teams optimising for go-live, not for what happens after. Contact centre platforms chosen because of a good demo, not because they solved the actual problem.
Paul Wilson and Rob have spent a combined six decades inside this industry โ on the vendor side, the implementation side, and the advisory side. We've seen what works and, more often, what doesn't.
Canzuki exists because we decided to do it differently.
Problem first. Platform last
Every engagement starts with understanding your problem โ not with a product recommendation, not with a platform we're commercially aligned to, not with a solution looking for a problem to solve.
We are vendor-agnostic. Always. We receive no implementation commissions, no referral fees, no preferred partner incentives. The advice you get from us is yours, not a vendor's.
We operate across New Zealand and Australia, working with enterprise and mid-market contact centres navigating platform decisions, technology transformations, and the growing complexity of AI in customer experience.
Inspired by Kelly Johnson
Kelly Johnson was the legendary engineer behind Lockheed's Skunk Works โ the small, autonomous team responsible for some of the most remarkable aircraft ever built. His operating principles were radical for their time: small teams of good people, minimal bureaucracy, maximum accountability, and an obsessive focus on outcomes over process.
We've never forgotten those principles.
Not because we build aircraft โ but because the philosophy translates directly to how good consulting should work. Small, expert teams. No unnecessary overhead. Decisions made close to the problem. A bias toward doing over reporting.
Johnson's most quoted rule was to use a small number of good people rather than a large number of average ones. That's how we staff every engagement. You won't get handed to a junior team after the partner signs the deal. You get us.
Our mantra
It's not about us. It's about you.
That's not a marketing line. It's the lens through which every engagement decision gets made. Which platform is right for your operation, not ours. Which approach fits your team's capacity, not our delivery model. Which outcome matters to your business, not our case study.
Who we are
Paul Wilson โ Co-founder. 35 years of contact centre and telecommunications experience across Genesys, Avaya, Twilio, AWS, and Vonage. Former engineering leader across Asia Pacific. Delivered $13M in cost savings at Avaya. Now leads Canzuki's technical advisory and platform strategy practice.
Rob โ Co-founder. [Add Rob's bio here]
We're based in New Zealand and Australia, we work remotely across both markets, and we're small by design.
Backed by Betsol
Canzuki is proudly backed by Betsol โ a global cloud-first digital transformation and IT services company operating across more than 40 countries with over 600 engineers and technology specialists worldwide.
Betsol's backing gives Canzuki access to deep technical capability and global enterprise experience when engagements require it โ without changing who we are. We remain an independent, vendor-agnostic consultancy. Our advice is still ours. But when the right engagement calls for additional technical resource, implementation depth, or specialist expertise, we have the backing to deliver it.
It's the best of both worlds: the independence and straight-talking of a boutique, with the depth of a global technology organisation behind it.

What we believe
We believe the best technology decisions come from people who understand the problem before they touch a platform.
We believe vendor-agnostic advice is not a niche โ it's what every organisation deserves.
We believe small, expert teams consistently outperform large, hierarchical ones.
We believe go-live is the beginning, not the end.
And we believe that in an industry full of people selling platforms, there is real value in someone whose only job is to help you choose the right one.
